Exmouth Market

We are proud to be associated with Exmouth Market, Clerkenwell which comprises an eclectic mix of restaurants, cafes, bars, independent shops and market stalls. Most of the food outlets have outside seating which promotes a fashionable pavement café atmosphere and no doubt contributed towards the Academy of Urbanism’s decision to award this “vibrant and well-managed” street the Great Street Award in 2011. Taking its name from the Exmouth Arms pub, the area has been a market place since the 1890s. The street comprises around 50 brick and pastel colour rendered terraced buildings of varying designs, typically dating from the 19th century, and consisting of ground floor retail/restaurant uses with residential accommodation on the upper floors.

Portland Mews

Portland Mews is a courtyard in the heart of Soho, a few hundred metres from the bustle of Oxford Street but very different in character, this particular part of the district being typified by narrow streets with independent shops and cafes at street level and upper parts often home to small companies in the film and music industries. The buildings in Portland Mews were built in the 19th century as warehouses for the nearby Berwick Street market but have long since been converted to loft style offices. Our client is a property trust and owns 4 of the 6 buildings in the mews. Each is a small 2/3 storey building with average floorspace of approx. 200m² .

Birmingham Royal Ballet

Our involvement with Birmingham Royal Ballet dates back to 1994 and, in the main, comprises a facilities management role for the occupation of their custom-built headquarters premises in Birmingham City Centre along with their Midlands-based warehousing facilities. Birmingham Royal Ballet (BRB) are one of the UK’s four major ballet companies and the leading touring classical company. They expect their property assets to perform a huge variety of functions, from dance studios and a physiotherapy pool to office accommodation for off-stage staff. The headquarters premises are used not only by dancers and off-stage staff, but also for schools and communities work and underwent a £2.7m major refurbishment programme in 2014 to provide firstclass facilities befitting such a prestigious organisation.
